Innovative lighting on every level

Innovative lighting is another avenue worth exploring to give you an edge over the competition. Lighting affects a great many factors when you take a look at different industries. Within the hospitality industry, it is important for your guests to feel happy. An innovative approach can provide different light intensities at different times, create a certain distribution and even a certain atmosphere.

And when such a solution can also contribute to a sustainable environment, it can be used as a unique selling point to attract guests and visitors.

The Lotto Arena Antwerp is a prime example of this: not only do they serve consumers attending an event, but they also cater to artists, companies or athletes who rent the venue. All these visitors are becoming increasingly demanding and expect lighting levels to be adjusted according to their needs.

The Lotto Arena, for example, hires extra lighting for every major sporting event to meet the high standards. This ranges from a specific light intensity for the players to the internationally required quality of HD recordings. On top of that, the light has to be evenly distributed for the sake of performance quality, requiring an even distribution of more than 80%.

Encon was brought in to take a closer look at the current lighting. When the owners of Lotto Arena saw how much energy and CO2 a new LED lighting system saved by producing twice as much light, they decided to modify their entire lighting and invest in an LED installation that met all the high standards. The complete design and installation was done by Encon. Economical and flexible lamps that can be controlled: whether for safety lighting, lighting during the set-up or special lighting effects during events of the highest level.

A challenging project, partly due to the high occupancy rate of the Arena. Following a tight schedule, this relighting was carried out in no less than 10 business days and with fantastic results. The doubling of light output went hand in hand with a reduction of no less than 82 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year.

By increasing their customers' comfort levels and with it, the appeal of their events; the Lotto Arena has established itself on an international level. Investing in sustainable and innovative lighting made for great added value as it attracted even more customers and also offered the quality that the international TV sector considers to be an asset, all adding to the visibility of the Arena.
