What makes Encon tick?

There is a broad consensus that our planet is warming up as a result of excessive emission of greenhouse gases. It is also clear that we urgently need far-reaching measures to contain global warming. The challenges, however, are immense.

For thousands of years, human activity had no significant impact on our climate or environment. In a very short time, all of that has changed. The increase in CO2 in the atmosphere was brought about in a short period of just over 150 years during three industrial revolutions. We need to reduce this excessive increase over the next 30 years, i.e. over a period that is five times shorter.

Ironically, mankind is technically advanced enough to meet this challenge and succeed. The greatest difficulty, however, appears to be of a societal nature. It is imperative that everyone - citizens, business leaders and politicians - should show sufficient readiness to adopt the necessary solutions, which, by the way, are not lacking. Encon's experience shows that this is not yet sufficiently the case, even when energy savings earn themselves back in the short term.

In short, the most important climate challenge is not of a technical, but of a societal nature.

From all this, Encon could only conclude that it should not only look for technically advanced solutions, but that an equally important task is to convince companies to make the best possible use of the available techniques, which also bring in money.
