Europe's most sustainable building
Infinity is one of Europe's most sustainable buildings. The BREEAM and LEED certificates and the on-site renewable energy production are proof of this. Infinity is not just a state-of-the-art building, however. It also means thinking about how to think, learn and work in a more sustainable way. We see Infinity as a kind of mindset that inspires and informs people about how we can all make a difference with respect to our future and that of our children.
Being an energy specialist, Encon wants its headquarters to be a showcase for sustainable solutions. That is why we transformed the building into a living showroom of all the ways of building sustainably. It forms a 'living lab' of the best available techniques, sometimes even installed next to each other. Interested companies can come and compare the different techniques on the spot and choose which solution suits them best. We see Infinity as both a research site and a business environment for ecology, energy and best practices in design and construction techniques. Infinity was built in 2018.
Visiting Infinity
The building was designed in such a way as to allow visits to be organised. Using the combination of auditorium and restaurant, we have developed a specific programme for decision-makers. We estimate that 1,500 to 2,000 companies a year will come to visit the building to find inspiration in the field of sustainability.
Impact Investing
All of Encon's projects are implemented as part of our Impact Investing approach. Impact Investing generates both financial and societal returns. In addition to a financial return, Impact Investing investments and projects also have a positive social impact through energy savings, renewable energy and sustainability projects. Over a 17-year period, Encon has saved more than 932,000 tonnes of CO2 and 183 million euros. This corresponds to the CO2 compensation of 77,000 ha of trees. Experience a unique moment
Encon has prepared an interesting programme for your workgroup. Around 18h00, we welcome you at Infinity for an aperitif until all participants have arrived. For 45 minutes we will inspire you with our keynote speech on Impact Investing and why we built Infinity. Afterwards, a guided tour will be organised, allowing you to discover and experience various techniques. A reception or an exclusive three-, four- or five-course dinner with matching wines will make for a unique evening.
